Way to almost ripe my heart out right there at the end Michelle and to have already crushed in there in the middle wasn't very nice of you. But I will give it to you that it all made for one heck of a story. If I didn't need sleep I would read the whole next book tonight so that I know how this ends but sadly I do. Although I will be starting it tonight. A little less sleep never hurt anyone. All the characters show a lot of growth and progression in maturity in this one.

Still okay, I guess. The book was really short and while there are a lot of trials and adventures and some surprising twists, but I'm still not loving the series the way I want to. Some of the trials were actually really terrifying and I found myself engaged in those a little more, but the characters are pretty one-dimensional and shallow, and I can't help but think they're a little psychopathic, too. They seem a little too trigger-happy, which doesn't feel right with the tone and dialogue, which still doesn't feel natural to me. That said, I did really like a new character named Erebus, who's mysterious and powerful and unpredictable. While Nicole's question about her father does finally get answered, it seemed really out of the blue as well, and then we never came back to it, which was a let down considering the three-book-build-up. I didn't expect the twist at the end, but things keep happening for convenience's sake, and then the book ends really abruptly. I was actually left wondering: Is that really how the author is going to end the book? That said, I'm interested to see how it all pans out. I'm not keeping my hopes too high, but this is is a short read and I don't see the point of turning back now.

I just finished reading this book and I was not let down. I was about to be very unhappy about some events but by the end I was looking forward to seeing what happens. Sorry about being vague but I often read reviews before reading a book & I don't want to ruin it for anyone.

Just know that I read it fast and was interested from start to finish. I am well outside of the YA age group but still find these books fascinating!
Take a chance & give the series a read!

Oh this one is dark dark. Like horror and gory but without losing Madow's usual steam. BEAUTY.

This is the most action packed so far in this series. It is crazy intense, full of drama and excitement !! Michelle knocks it out of the park again..I already can't wait for the next installment. This series is super awesome and highly suggest to anyone who likes action-adventure, love stories, fantastical elements, friendship.. it's just the best of every genre in one book series !!!
