A bit of a disappointing read for me. I liked the characters the writer created, which were relatively lively, but the book itself felt rather chaotic and I did not enjoy the way the story developed. I found myself rushing through the end of it, as I wanted it to be done already.

I love Agatha Christie, and I love Dorothey L. Sayers, who has provided one of my favorite quotes of all time ("Oh, how fleeting are the passions of man comoared to the massive continuity of ducks!", from Gaudy Night). I also adore the radio theater shows BBC has made based on Sayers'books. The characters are completely charming, though this particular one doesn't feature my queen Harriet Vane, but it was plenty enjoyable nonetheless. I burst out laughing at "If it isn't somebody interesting, I'm not at home!" Terribly relatable.
I think this is the first Lord Peter. He was more insufferable then.

This book was kind of confusing at first. It felt like there was a lot of background knowledge that I was supposed to have that I didn't. Once I got into the mystery I enjoyed it though.
