Fantastic wordless graphic novel. The pictures are amazing. They are done in so much detail and they are beautiful. The reader can decide between different meanings to the story. I'm not sure exactly what I have gotten out of it but, honestly, that makes it better. Highly recommend! Children of all ages will love to look at this book, even if they do not understand the story.

The illustrations pull you right in and make words unnecessary. The seagull is the only one who gets to say anything, everyone else just dreams beautiful things.

It reminds me of an animated film I only vaguely remember (found it: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0978762/), and actually don't know if I really watched.

Starting with the traveler, we have connected but parallel stories of a boy and a man who are in control of their lives and their worlds. Without extra context (other characters, for instance) the only way they can be classified is as privileged (00). Their interconnected lands, accessible via the magic boat as well as by dreams, is a utopic (no place) destination (FF). The boat which connects the two worlds doesn't have an obvious road between the two. Nor is it separated by corn. It could be separated by time but that isn't made obvious; therefore I'm placing the route as offroad (66). All together that is 00FF66.

It's easy to get lost inside the details Coelho fills these pages with. I love the contrast between almost overwhelming clutter and then almost stark simplicity. I love the multiple perspectives.
This book is sure to leave readers wondering what is going on here and questioning what the story is all about. For me, I wonder about the relationship between the young boy and the old man. Who are they and why are they important to each other? Coelho tells us how the story came to be, but gives us no answers in the cover notes.

Beautiful book. For those that live The Little Prince, this gorgeously conceived and illustrated wordless novel will be right up your alley.

I love the art and story, but there were some conceptual leaps I didn't enjoy. I also found the framing of images on the page a little uncomfortable.

A gorgeous piece of art. The entire book is stunning and it has a wordless story that can be interpreted in many thoughtful ways.
