This is a well written story. I enjoyed reading the book even though it covered tough topics.

I enjoyed this book. It was the perfect balance of well written prose, balancing both romantic comedy aspects with drama and angst.

I wanted so badly to LOVE this book. However, I liked this book and didn't love it.

Our main character, Tabby, is a 30-something-year-old Black woman living in the city. Tabby is a TV reporter with a promising future, has a gorgeous and low stress boyfriend, has two close girl friends who always have her back, and a great relationship with her grandmother, who is her name's sake. However, Tabby's problems begin when her doctor informs her of the ticking time bomb that is her fertility. Suddenly, Tabby has to figure out if her boyfriend wants to start a family within the next 6 months, and, on top of her newly chaotic life, both of her girl friends are having their own crises. As events continue to unfold, Tabby and her friends work through their separate life events and come together to support each other.

I think the author tried to cover such a large range of topics that make up part of the Black experience that it almost ruined the effect. These are all such important issues, but none of them were focused on for long since there were so many of them. However, I think the characters saved the book for me. They were all so unique and had plenty of opportunities to grow.

I do think this book touches on very important topics and is a good read!

I loved this book and the many messages it told. Our FMC, Tabby, is such a strong character and I loved her relationship with her grandmother and her friends. Their relationships were quite dysfunctional at times, but I loved their conversations and interactions. They were all such strong beautiful women.

I felt connected to Tabby due to the fact that she was struggling with infertility. Her and her man decided to break things off because he wasnโ€™t ready for marriage and unsure if heโ€™d ever want kids. She never really thought about kids until she was told she couldnโ€™t have them, and had the choice taken from her. With that, Tabby decides to look into freezing her eggs in the off chance she might one day have kids.

Tabithaโ€™s entire journey with infertility, racial bias, and finding herself was truly moving. I loved Tabbyโ€™s character and loved the journey she was on. She also got her own little HEA at the end ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป
