Oh. My God. I feel like I got hit by a blacked-out luxury car driven by Aiden King himself. My brain is genuinely fried—not in a bad way, just in that “I willingly jumped into a pit of chaos and now I’m staring at the ceiling wondering what choices led me here” kind of way. You know what I mean?

And listen—I don’t do trilogies. I’m a one-and-done kinda girl. Closure, thanks. But after Cruel King, I made the "mistake" of getting curious about the coldest, meanest, most magnetic menace in Royal Elite. Aiden. Freaking. King. And now here I am, spiraling.

Honestly? I picked this book up because of that line on the back cover: “You were always mine. You just didn’t know it yet.” I mean… sir??? Sir. That is not legal. That is not safe. And I downloaded it instantly like the weak little goblin I am.

Now I’m knee-deep in Rina Kent’s twisted Royal Elite universe and I’m both ashamed and obsessed. This book isn’t soft. It’s not sweet. It’s like psychological warfare wrapped in rich kid secrets and suffocating chemistry. I feel like I ate something beautiful and poisonous and I’d do it again tomorrow.

The vibes? Dark as hell. The characters? Emotionally unavailable and fully deranged. The love story? If you can even call it that. It’s not healthy. At all. It’s possessive, obsessive, and completely over the line—and I devoured every word like a little trauma gremlin.

Aiden is so morally gray he’s practically pitch black. And Elsa? Poor girl. She’s not exactly the light to his dark—she’s just trying to survive the shadows he drags her into. There’s so much tension between them it gave me a tension headache. But like, the good kind? The kind you weirdly miss when it’s gone?

I honestly don’t know how to explain the emotional rollercoaster I was on. One second I was furious, the next I was weirdly charmed?? Then I’d get mad at myself for being charmed because—hello?—Aiden is a straight-up menace with no apology and no redemption arc (yet??). But I couldn’t stop reading. Not for a second.

The writing is fast and gritty. It reads like a dare. Like Rina Kent is standing over your shoulder whispering, “Bet you won’t keep going.” And I did. Because I’m weak. And curious. And absolutely in love with how dark everything feels without it tipping into complete edge-lord nonsense.

The ending? Oh my GOD. I almost threw my phone. That twist? I was screaming internally. Maybe a little externally. I know I said I wouldn’t keep going. I said I’d stop at book one. But here I am, probably downloading book two before I even finish this sentence.

Final thoughts? This book is a red flag buffet and I ate until I was full.

If you’re in the mood for something dark, addictive, and just the right amount of emotionally damaging, Deviant King will absolutely ruin your week—in the best way.

Wish me luck. I’m going back in.

If you can get past the toxicity, then you may be able to enjoy. No guarantees. 😬

From the beginning, Aiden is just uhg, that's all I can say.

I will say after reading Cruel King, the writing in this book, I felt was better. There was more of a plot going on and I am invested in that. That's about it. I skip all the spicy scenes and I skipped alot at the beginning with how Aiden treated her. I am literally here for the plot, and whatever secrets are been kept from her. That's the only reason I didn't give it a lower rating, and that cliffhanger.

I did find out that there's two more books on these two before I move on to other characters, which I feel like is a bit much. Howrver, I'm still invested in the plot.

Aiden needs to be humbled.
