I really enjoyed this book in its entirety. I liked that the characters weren’t the typical ones in their 20’s and it was more of a mature age group. It was truly a good read for me that I plan to buy the physical copy to put on my bookshelf. It didn’t get a 5 star because though I loved their happy ending, personally, “love” came really quickly but I guess love doesn’t have a timeline. And I didn’t like that it had to end in Dominic proposing and her being pregnant. That’s just my preference though, overall I loved reading this! I love the yearning as well! The yearning is what really had me on my toes, turning pages because it felt like real yearning and not just the typical romance!

I hated both of the main characters

Oh I loved this!! The slow burn, banter & tension was *chefs kiss*. It was also absolutely hilarious - it had me giggling and kicking my feet the whole way. The workplace / grumpy boss vibes were unmatched & I loved the side plot and side characters too! My first book from Lucy Score & I can definitely see myself reading more from her!

DID NOT FINISH: 56%

I didn't like it. They hated each other in one chapter and then the other they were attracted to each other. The insta love was so much that I couldn't

Okay here’s the thing… it is SO cheesy. It’s very predictable and the story itself was not the most unique incredible thing ever. BUT… it was pretty adorable. There was one (very minor) twist at the end with a supporting character that I didn’t actually see coming and I loved. And the freaking line “every day until it was a good one” did actually make me tear up. IYKYK.

Immediate thoughts: This book would have been better without the third-act breakup. In the beginning, I was immediately locked in from the banter between Ally and Dominic. I appreciated that the author gave us characters in their 40s - it was a refreshing change. I loved that Ally gave Dominic a hard time and never backed down. It was really just that third-act breakup and lack of groveling on behalf of Dominic that brought the overall rating down for me.

Quick recap: Ally is an almost 40-year old woman who is struggling to make ends meet due to taking care of her dad's medical bills. While working one of her many jobs at the pizza shop, Dominic comes in. Dominic is the typical billionaire businessman with a sense of entitlement and Ally just doesn't care. She ends up getting fired because of Dominic (definitely not her own choices, she was completely in the right) but is immediately offered a job from his very own mother at their large fashion magazine company. Immediately they're at each other's throats in this company, and no matter how hard Dominic doesn't want to want Ally, he just can't help it. When their romance blossoms, they both are able to help the other in different ways. The problem is that Dominic has some unhealed trauma from before that he ends up taking out on Ally (hence the third-act breakup). But don't worry, she forgives him and they get their HEA.

Dom is forking adorable. No spoilers but the ending was so sweet. He is a dream. Miss Lucy Score really writes amazing books. Up to this point, I have absolutely loved every book of hers. The characters are wonderful and the plot just stays so interesting. If I didn't fall a sleep every evening, this book would have been finished a lot quicker.

dom is a bit of a stupid dipshit… but the almost 800 pages was worth it to get a happy ending. the smut was really good as well, and i loved the banter and humour.
