It's a couple of years since I read a Kathy Reichs novel, and the last one was one I didn't enjoy that much, so it was with a little hesitancy that I started this. Well, I needn't have bothered being concerned - she (or me, because it may have been my state of mind that caused the unhappines with that last one) was back to the great kind of story that I'd loved in all the former ones.

What did I like in particular about this? - I enjoyed the sparring between the ex-husband and the boyfriend, I enjoyed the verbals games that Tempe plays, I enjoyed the descriptions of places and people. And the conclusion was full of excitment.

A good read.

I would say that so far this is my favourite one
Tempe is showing a bit more emotion in her love life particularly
I can see why she loved Pete however I really like Ryan
The story itself was great, the villain in this book was extremely smart, making sure from the beginning to cover their tracks so it was even more satisfactory when they were captured

Likeable, good story, think I always enjoy Andrew Ryan being part of the story.

Liked this one. Interesting story, good mystery. Lots of character development.

I stayed up way too late to finish this one. There are a lot of names & scientific words and such in this book-but if you like the crime shows like CSI & Bones (

Enjoyed this one especially the interaction with Pete and Ryan. Hated the death of Emma. Kathy Reichs never disappoints me.

plot: Tempe gets caught in a case in South Carolina while staying at a beach house. What are the chances that it becomes a serial killer case relating to her ex-husbands current job. He is also staying at the house when Ryan comes in for a surprise visit. Now Tempe has to balance old love, new love and a serial killer.
opinion: This book had all the drama. A lot more personal problems than the other books. I loved the love triangle. The case was also super interesting and unpredictable.

I didn't expect much from this pulp style crime novel. I did enjoy it as my commute distraction - it did it's job.

Another super enjoyable Kathy Reichs novel! The plot she uncovers is a twisted story of organ harvesting. Mysterious and hard to predict as usual. Her personal life was a bit odd to me in this one — she has a lot of outbursts and tensions internally between the two men that I didn’t quite get. Otherwise loved it.
