Strong female protagonist with intricate world building. First novel in the series started and finished strong. Always on the lookout for portrayals of female as the leader without s*xual connotations, crying and being emotional hamstrung.

Looking forward to the next novel in the series.

Here's the thing. What books you like depend so much on who you are, and where you are.

I straight-up adored this book. So much so, that I just swept my disbelief under the rug when some of the plot developments threw me for a loop. I love the characters, and it was just bubbly fun adventure reading. Light, frothy, and, let me say again, just plain fun.

It may not work for you. But oh my goodness, it was perfect for me.

Spoiler You cannot expect me to believe that they would just jump back 66 million years when before their biggest jump was a millennia or so. You just can't. Not even St. Mary's would think that was OK. Also, if they were into the flora and fauna research, seriously, they really need to bring some biologists along. I don't care how good the recordings are, you need a biologist to help you know what to look for. This is a huge plot hole, but, again, I was enjoying the book so much that I just went with it.

I quite liked the heroine in this story, but wow did she go through a LOT in this book! Action packed with some really fun time travel. I liked it a bit better than Connie Willis's time traveling historians.

Great beginning to a rather long series. Hope it keeps my interest.

Really fun, interesting innovative start to a series!! I don't know how this escaped my notice thus far - I am looking forward to reading the next in the series!

An okay read, if a little hard to follow. Lots of characters and for some reason Taylor is averse to mentioning their names when a new one enters a scene. Makes for a confusing narrative. Not sure if I’ll read any more in the series.

Humorous charming adventure. Do I call it geek fiction?
Don't read expecting a cold factual explanation of the sci-fi twist its not some serious sci-fi epic; its here for the fun story.

I think I would call this the opposite to the three body problem. Where that was over-hyped boring crap with stilted characters acting stupid this was a blast to read and a joy to join the the characters nerding out.
