The last book of 2020,and it just happens to be a 5 star read!! I truly love this book, it was fantastic. As far as being science fiction, due to time travel I suppose, it really wasn't that science fictioney really! This book has everything I needed, humor, intensity, mystery, a plot twist I never even thought about seeing coming, romance, some sadness and death. The premise was awesome, the pacing great AND there are 11 more in the series (even more actually if I read the short stories, novellas and 2.5's etc). Rest assured I will be reading at least the rest of the full novels! Jodi Taylor, you grabbed my attention with the title, your grabbed my heart with the content! Thanks again to my Secret Santa (Cricket) for picking this one up for me!!!

Time traveling historians, adventure, action, a little romance...this book had some many great elements. The plot moves super fast, dare I say too fast in places. This was a fun romp. I will

So excited for this series, I held off until it's pretty much complete as hate waiting for the next installment!
Absolutely loved this, it's got a fantastic concept with great characters and some delightful humour running throughout. It's completely different to other fantasy series that I've read; time travellers historians with a fabulous steampunk feel. Can't wait to read them all!

If you're a fan of the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde I think you will love this one.

Fun, a bit frivolous but not vapid. I know it is unfair to say this about a book called "Just One Damn Thing After Another," but by the end I got a bit weary of all the damn things.

Loved this! It's exactly the adventurous, not too serious, devil-may-care romp that I like from time to time just for the fun of it!
Miss Maxwell joins forces with the staff of St Mary's - outwardly a historical research outfit but actually a bunch of boisterous time-travellers. This has just the right amount of action, passion and irreverence to make for a light-hearted (although sometime serious without killing the mood) skip back from the library!

I loved this. I love history, geeking out, time travel. And stories about multiple and varied relationships. Also Love snarky British humor. I'm definitely reading the next one, and if all the reviews are any indicator, the next and the next and the next. I think the original cover (this one) is confusing about what the Book is like, so the audio cover is better. Definitely for DR. Who fans. Possibly for Connie Willis fans though they may balk a bit that there is actually character development instead of truly just event after event. Title is pretty damned true; if this book sounds like it might be for you, make sure you have time to be hooked because you won't be able to put it down. Enjoy!!!

Update: I loved them all, every single one. Flipped out about them.

I loved this!!! My new fav series!! It's such a crazy mix of Doctor Who, Hitchhiker's Guide and The Librarians. I can't wait to read them all. The characters are magnificent. I especially love that the author treats history as a character in itself!!
