So, Naughty Brits is a super-fun anthology (it's all m/f couples, even if a couple of the characters seems to be bi or pan in their history) and seem to be arranged in order of increasing filthiness:

1. Sarah MacLean - sweet, more traditionally structured, H seems to be from the line of Matthew MacFadyen characters in boots and a sweater, plus-sized heroine, steamy sex scenes, including one on top of a "folly" on his estate in the outdoors
2. Sophie Jordan - quick and dirty, H is described as an Italian Henry Cavill lookalike, he's the bodyguard, she's a curvy author with three trash ex-husbands who wrote a book about not needing men that's making TEH DOODZ predictably mad; there's bananas sex in a museum stairwell
3. Louisa Edwards - the only author in the anthology I've never read before; plus-sized nonfiction writer researching the history of cookbooks meets a clear Tom Hardy-like Very Famous Actor while they're each walking their dogs in Regents' Park; there's steamy no-touching scene in a study room at the British Museum plus what is possibly the drrrrrtiest BJ in the backseat of a car
4. Tessa Gratton - her first published adult romance writing; Welsh pub owner who studied opera and is trying to decide whether to sell her family's pub and an ex-military guy who seems also to be a Henry Cavill but American lookalike whose family company is the one trying to buy the pub (clearly, there is a lie by omission); bonkers messy sexytimes up against standing stones and in the doorway to one of the British Museum's galleries
5. Sierra Simone - absolutely the filthiest story of the bunch, which is unsurprising given her previous writing; it's a student/former student and her archaeology professor - who are clearly into kink - but he left her at the altar four years ago and on meeting her at a museum event (where she's working as a caterer) he immediately gets her off in one of the galleries; later there's just flat-out exhibitionism in the Museum; I couldn't tell you what he's supposed to look like because he doesn't seem clearly described but after this week's circulation of that deceptive movie poster of Johnny Flynn getting pegged against a wall (which is UNFORTUNATELY NOT what that movie is about) that's what he looks like in my head now

This is a lovely collection of five novellas that loosely connect through mutual characters. I’ll give my impressions of each book separately.

A Duke Worth Falling For by Sarah MacLean *****
It was brilliant, funny, cute, romantic, and very hot. What more do you want? Sarah MacLean is definitely keeping her spot as one of my favorite authors ever.

Better with You by Sophie Jordan ***
I wasn’t as enamored with this one. Everything happened very quickly, and having just Vee’s perspective didn’t give me a good idea of who Luca really was. This would have worked better for me if the story had more time to unfold. As it was, it felt a bit cramped and rushed.

Not a Bad Boy by Louisa Edwards ****
I loved the sexually charged banter between Ian and Mallory. It was really hot.

Songbird by Tessa Gratton ***
I enjoyed the writing style in this book a lot, it’s very descriptive. The author used some crude words during sex scenes, which isn’t unusual, and doesn’t bother me, but it seemed a bit out of place for me in this particular book.

Supplicant by Sierra Simone ****
I found this book very emotionally intense. The feelings between Charlotte and Church are just so enormous and a bit extreme. And boy, the drama! I have to say, the relationship feels overly possessive and not all that healthy to me. But it was well-delivered and I was very invested in their story.

I’ve only read Sarah MacLean before, but I will definitely go look for the other authors’ books now.

This is a great collection of stories to read if you’re a bit short on time, and don’t want to stop half-way through a chapter. Each one is a quick read, and you can get a great romance fix in, five times!

Thank you to Sarah MacLean for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A Duke Worth Falling For by Sarah MacLean - 3.5 stars

I struggled with this story a bit. It was pretty slow paced. I only really got into it and started enjoying it coming down to the end.

Better With You by Sophie Jordan - 4 stars

I adored this story it had me swooning and sighing dreamily. I devoured it. It’s steamy and sexy. There’s just something about the bodyguard trope that I simply can’t get enough of.

Not A Bad Boy by Louisa Edwards - 3.5 stars

I liked it and found it enjoyable but there were parts of it that rubbed me the wrong way. That said I’m looking forward to reading more by this author.

Songbird by Tessa Gratton - 3 stars

This was an ok read for me. I didn’t really feel connected to the characters or their story. It also felt very predictable.

Supplicant by Sierra Simone - 4.5 stars

I was fully invested from the very beginning in this story and its characters. It’s erotic and there’s depth to it despite how short it is. I loved these characters and their story.

Sarah Maclean’s story 5 Stars

This story was exactly what I needed. It had me giddily smiling and swooning. It was perfection. Can we get more?

Sophie Jordan’s story 4 Stars

It was an engaging story. I wish it was dual POV, but I liked it.

Louisa Edwards’ story 3.5 Stars

Very enjoyable, but wish there was a little more of a build up and dual POV.

Tessa Gratton’s story 3.5 Stars

Not bad. I could have used a little more build up on this one as well.

Sierra Simone’s story 5 Stars

Wow, Bethenny. Wow! What a sexy story packed with emotions! This one sinks its teeth in you and doesn’t let go.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

A Duke Worth Falling For, by Sarah MacLean. This is a contemporary romance book that will keep the reader entertained from beginning to end. The writer certainly did know how to reach her readers. The background story to the love story helped fill in the areas where the romantic love story had its pause moments. A modern day Duke out to rescue his maiden certainly will have the readers sighing as they read this story. The writing was sharp.
The story was simple. The writer didn’t overdo with big words. She stayed to the story which was the romance between Lilah and Max.

Better with You, by Sophie Jordan.
He was like a giant lollipop begging to be sucked. I can’t get this saying out of my head. Lol. Sophie Jordan gave us a short romantic love story that really packed a wallop to the woman’s vulva. Mr. Moretti, you can be my bodyguard anytime. Oh my. I was swept up into this romance between Vee and Moretti. What woman wouldn’t want a strong, burly
man guarding her and then romantically attracted to her. I loved how Sophie wrote the lead character Vee struggling with her emotions and the feelings that she had for Moretti. At the same time Moretti walked around seemingly unfazed by what was happening around him. His job was to protect his client. Truthfully he was struggling with his own feelings for Vee. This a girls dream romantic story that she would love to experience. I wanted more from these two. I recommend this book with two snaps and a lollipop. Until next time my fellow readers... read on!

Supplicant, by Sierra Simone. This was a very interesting read for me. The story really caught my attention in the beginning with Charley and Jax. The story was more of Charley fighting with her emotions of what Church did to her. Church some how in someway wins her heart back. This was a short sweet romantic read.
I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.

I’m an Anglophile at heart, so I loved this cheeky anthology with novellas taking place in the UK, pairing one BRIT with one America in each short romance. There is a central thread tying all the stories together- a posh fundraiser in the lovely British Museum. Oh, and of course, they are all sexy. I had not read four of the five authors in this batch, so i was excited, too, to find some new authors to love.

While all the stories had their charms, the two stories I loved the most were Sierra Simone’s (not surprisingly b/c I read her often) and Sarah Maclean’s- a new to me author. Both of these novellas were 5 stars for me.

Sierra Simone’s The Supplicant delivers everything I adore about Sierra Simone. The chemistry is scorching, the emotional intensity is thick and heavy, surprises abound, and it has a bold and unapologetic sexiness and taboo quality. This is the story of a past jilted bride down on her luck, trying to make ends meet, crosses path with the man that left her at the altar. For a novella, this one sure packed a punch and felt like a complete story. The perfect combination of heart, character complexity, and heat.

Maclean’s A Duke Worth Falling For features a favorite trope- a royal attempting to be a lowly plebeian to escape being all bougie and important...Here, our duke finds celebrity photographer Lilah has no idea who he is. So instead of being a duke, he plays farmer Max. While we know how this plays out- feelings happen and then it's too late to come clean, this one was still a fresh and yummy delight. From what I gather, Maclean is the queen of historical romance and this isn’t her first rodeo with dukes, even if this is a contemporary story. I’m looking forward to checking her out.

If you are looking for some quick, HOT, and fun reads with chemistry that sizzles and fun British vibes, this is a great read!

Overall, 4.5 stars for the entire anthology.
