What an annoying and insecure protagonist! Her stupidity — especially near the end when she confronts the individual she thinks is a murderer — is dumbfounding. I’m willing to try a few more installments in the series, but her actions had better become less impulsive!
Fun little cozy mystery. Agatha grows on you by the end of it.

This was a fun book to read as I needed something to just be a bit lighthearted after a heavier read. The only thing for me was that some turn of phrases it seems were of its time i feel and so at points i found it a bit jarring. That being said the characterisations were well done on occasion and the story flowed along nicely for a cosy crime. I would probably dip in and out of these as and when the need arises for a bit of light reading.
Oddechová, rychle odsýpající anglická detektivka s nadhledem a inspirací v úžasné slečně Marplové. Postava Agathy je milá a s velkou dávkou všetečnosti i lidskosti. Skvělá kniha na líné odpoledne, kdy nechcete ani tolik přemýšlet, jako si spíše odpočinout. Moc ráda si přečtu i další díly.
Let's be real, Agatha is an asshole. She's an early 90s Karen who SOMEHOW manages to convince this small town that she's likeable. This was an enjoyable audio book to listen to on a trip with Des, lots of good moments for exclamations. I also started to like Agatha more by the end because she does seem to be learning to not be an asshole, that first 3/4 of the book tho. She is very unlikable. Oh well, gave me a strong craving for quiche.
