Pretty good children's picture book biography. It's always nice to see a much lesser known figure covered. In this case the artwork is quite familiar and clearly recognizable to me. And I love some of the actual artwork being in the book. I wasn't blown away by the art otherwise. But the historical note was great. A kind of fun time-and-place capture.

Rhoda and her grandfather, Toppy, often go to the Natural History Museum where they spend long hours together. Toddy is, in fact, world renowned wildlife artist Charles R. Knight, whose paintings are featured in the museum.
The story of his amazingly detailed art is inspiring, the story is heartwarming, and the illustrations are charming. A truly wonderful memoir.

An interesting take on biography perspective, love the grandfather/grandaughter interaction, a very interesting artist who was legally blind and very cool that the illustrator has strong connections.
