I'm excited on the march toward the inevitable clash between Earth-616 and the Ultimate universe, and this book advances the characters toward the resolution, but the book is inconsistent on the level of excitement it provides. The last arc however pays off.

Maybe the writers will be able to pull this story together and start heading to a conclusion. This volume was quite a bit story. An interesting story with reasonably interesting characters. Banner's role especially was nice to see. And AIM rather than Hydra. Still the other Avengers were not nearly powerful enough. And the Stark/Banner interchange was a little too confused, a little too wordy. 3.5 of 5.

A great big weird Avengers book with some fun storytelling florishes.
I do wish Marvel would keep the art(ists) consistent though.

Meh. Probably a 2.5 if I could.
I suppose Infinity is a pretty hard story to follow up. This volume did nothing for me.
Blah, blah, blah-fucking-blah.
Realistically, I was thinking that since Infinity was over I would just give this series a rest until Secret Wars starts up in the spring; Especially with how lackluster the majority of the issues in this one were. That last issue though, it hooked me - the tension between Banner and Stark made for some very interesting story telling. So now I have to keep pushing on.
I suppose I owe the Avengers that much since they consistently save the world I live on.
Thanks for that by the way...

Hickman continues to build steam, but not in a bad treading-water kinda way. I feel like the art is still kind of struggling to keep up (it feels like there was a drop around the end of Infinity that still hasn't been compensated for) but there's this weird roller-coaster-starting-to-fall-apart feeling that keeps getting stronger and stronger that I really enjoy.

Carries the story on nicely, and offers a nice alternative Avengers among other things.
