A team of 3 rather bumbling lawyers take on big pharma and their oh-so-competent corporate lawyers in an effort to win a big settlement and get rich. Lighthearted and funny, but also thought provoking. What is - and what should be - the role of lawsuits in today’s society? Are lawyers more often a force for good - or bad - in the US? Would make a good book club choice.
Kind of required reading for me, and for a while I thought, despite the slovenly writing and Insulting fact-checking, that it might get something going. But I was wrong. It is not worthy even of its slight ambitions.
I just did a re-listen to The Litigators, which is one of my three favorite Grisham novels (the others being The Runaway Jury and The Rainmaker). He has a way of making the law so interesting and at times fun. I adore a good David and Goliath story.
Grisham really "phoned" this one in. Did we really need another Grisham novel on the mass tort system? I read this in about 3 hours which tells you about how much time he must have spent writing it.

I really liked this book. It was both funny and sad. The main characters are just that characters that make you laugh. This is really a good book.
