Solid 3.5. Rounding up because I think it deserves more than a 3.
3 1/2 stars. Well paced, heart-felt in some places, funny in others, overall a decent read.
The plot won't blow you away with originality or surprises but the book makes up for it by adding plenty of humor and going a little lighter on the preachiness that has plagued some of Grisham's work lately.
This book follows the Grisham formula, though there are still some unexpected twists. Whats different about this book is the comedic tone - there is a humorous side to the story that sets it apart from other Grisham novels. Entertaining read.
I really like David...I kept cheering for him to succeed- in spite of those crazy co-workers he was dealing with. He was down to earth and just plain likeable!
It's been a while since I read a Grisham. But I used to LOVE them a lot. I could NOT be interested in this one. It was highly repetitive. In the first 23 pages, we're told that David's wife wants to get pregnant but he's too tired to have sex with her twice. Really? And surprise, surprise, the main guy in this one starts out working for a big box law firm that works him to death and he hates it. Imagine that. There's nothing really new here. I was totally bored with this one.
I loved this book. This is my first Grisham novel, and I really loved his story telling. Informative with research and insight. I loved the whole story and the plot behind it. I found it quite funny at times, too. Would make a great summer read for anyone looking for one!

Oh John, what can I say? I love your books. The characters are oh so likable. Your soft heart for the underdog. I loved that big business was actually a victim here, such a fun twist. Yet the tiny law firm wins in the end. Sigh. I'm a huge fan! Keep them coming!
The Litigators
Fun read. Grisham can always satisfy the craving for a good courtroom drama. The storyline of mass tort law was really interesting and gave a little insight to what happens and why we see so many of the commercials on television.
