4.5. I’m sorry Ms Kuang but the amazing complexity and intensity of the book does not make up for the fact that the first half of the book was very slow and unnecessary.

Otherwise 5 stars ⭐️.

10 stars. i really think r.f kuang is in her own league, truly my favourite author. her ability to capture mountainous topics through addictive prose is unparalleled.

Brilliant book that kept me thinking about it long after. Rather didactic and stereotypical characterisation, but what a fantastic world Babel constructed.
