Amazing. The atmosphere of wandering travellers in a inn, surrounded by rain and flooding rivers as they all take turns to tell their tales, is well done.

Initially picked this up because of the gorgeous cover; I was a little overwhelmed with the number of characters introduced in the beginning. However, as they tell their stories, each narrated so distinctly, it was easy to grasp each character.

The stories are slowly but deftly woven together through one detail or another, and it's so interesting to see how it all comes together. Moreover, each story is fascinating and is able to stand on its own. This strikes me as a book that would be even better on a reread.

Atmospheric, but not overdone (poetic prose or otherwise), and enticing worldbuilding tidbits abound.

Soft DNF. It’s just not what I want to read right now.

Loved the collection of stories! I had a little trouble following the thread that connects them all, but really loved the whimsy.

I was not feeling the vibe, sadly. Might try again later, because there are some interesting stories being told.

This was a fun read after the Green Glass House books by the same author, but it was difficult for me to keep track of who was who!
