After reading the first book in this series I was in a rush to order this, and it did not disappoint. A perfect encapsulation of a story, supported by a cast of loveable and unique characters. I greatly enjoyed both the main plot & subplot, and the designs once again blew me away with their creativity and gorgeousness. The art in this book is something you can easily get lost in.

Sign language is integrated so seamlessly into the book the distinction becomes automatic, and the inclusion of resources is a thoughtful touch. The imagery and culture of the village is magical, and yet I loved how down to earth it felt - like somewhere you could easily visit and experience yourself.

There were times in this book where I felt wonder, or where I felt exhilaration. It truly felt magical.

This story stands alone from the first book in the series and can be enjoyed separately. But, I imagine it will not be long until I treat myself to the last book in this series as well.
