A crime that is linked to mythology and satanic ideas. Creepy young cousin kills his aunt, uncle and cousin, causing the daughter to try to kill him and then run away overseas. Meanwhile, the cousin kills her friends in his quest to seek revenge. Whilst this is happening, members of a group called the Mephisto Club, which aims to kill demons are being targeted. It is eventually discovered that the cousin reunited with his mother, and the two worked together to bring down the Mephisto Club (the mother infiltrated the club). The pair are killed before they can murder more members of the club.

Another excellent read in the R&I series. Can't wait for the next one.

This book was attached to my fingers. The supernatural twists were wonderful. Another great one by Gerritsen.

Did not like this book at all -- so disliked it that I stopped reading half-way through and donated it to the library (only second time in my life I've done that). Some of it was her writing, some of it was being a fan of Rizolli & Iles TV show and the discrepancies were annoying. Disappointed as this author came highly recommended.

A more macabre twist to Tess Gerritsen’s usual style, nice to have something a little different but I still feel her medical thrillers are her best work.

While I probably won't rank this book among the best of the series it did have its moments and I found it fairly entertaining. The plot was a bit out there for me and I thought Dr. Isles went off the rails a bit but Jane was her usual grumpy though clear-headed self and amid all the blood and evil there was a bit a of humor. Listened to the audio version read by Kathe Mazur who did a serviceable job.

Normally I really enjoy this series but all the mystical mumbo jumbo in this one really took away from my enjoyment.

This was a very interesting book. The mythology was cool and a lot of it I didn't know anything about beforehand. The Rizzoli and Isles series are very good in my opinion. They get better and more interesting as they go on. So far this one, and Vanish are my favorite. My only problem with the series (I began reading them after this summer, I love the show Rizzoli and Isles) I love the friendship between Jane and Maura on the show, they aren't as close in the book, which sorta sucks. But the novels are still very interesting and well written. I couldn't put it down. In fact the last three R&I novels I have read, I read them all within 1-2 days. I highly recommend them. Especially this one.
