A great sequel. The cast of characters are fun and feel important in the greater plot. The way he places his characters throughout the world is incredibly thoughtful.

One of the best, if not the best, fantasy books I have ever read. The first book sets the groundwork for all of the different plotlines to intertwine in the seconr book - and the author does it so gracefully while still staying true to the motivations and personalities of each character/group. Some BIG battles - and the way they're written is so immersive that I feel like I can hear axes crunching into flesh and the cries of warriors and monsters. Can't wait for the third book to come out!
