A good read! Forster is so great with character. It has a happy ending, too, which I was glad to see! I'm surprised by how little of it actually took place in Italy—I was expecting there to be more. Definitely a product of its time, but I think it still holds up as a beach read.

I bought a copy of this book at a library book sale because the synopsis sounded interesting to me. This was the first title I have read from E.M. Forster.
"A Room with a View" is a "social comedy" set in Florence, Italy. Lucy Honeychurch is struggling against the traditional Victorian ideals she has been taught, so she goes on holiday to Italy. She finds herself in a love affair with a man who is not acceptable for her to date by societal standards.
I could not get into this story in the way I wanted to. I do not know if it was the writing style or I just did not vibe with the characters, but I was not invested in this book at all. I may try to reread it in the future, and I would love to read something else from E.M. Forster before I entirely write him off.
