The concept of "Ankle Snatcher" was intriguing, but it would have benefited from being a tad longer. Plunging straight into the horror was effective, yet with some additional buildup, it could have heightened the sense of unease even further for me. Also, I would've loved to read a follow up story regarding the inmates and their plans on defeating the monsters.

Moderate: Gore, Murder, and Death of parent
Minor: Alcoholism, Addiction, and Sexual content

OKAY GRADY. This is the first short story I have read, and I have mixed feelings
1) because I LOVE Grady Hendrix's style of writing
2) I selfishly wanted five more chapters
3) The ending was a fake ending, like what happened!?
If the book had been a bit longer with a twisted ending (like usual), I would have given it five stars, but I took off some points because he left me in suspense and made me create the rest of the story in my head.
PS: don't read this if you're afraid of the dark or monsters under your bed.
