Soooo I’m DNFing this. After a while it just got annoying to read. It’s a mystery, which should have a balance of plot vs details and character development and backstory and to me it just all felt off. To many details and bits of the mystery that I couldn’t remember or follow along with. I just got tired of all the details that I couldn’t remember nor cared about.
V sorry to this book. I tried so hard to get through it.

I liked the general storyline but there were some typos in my Kindle version which I’m sure happened bc it was downloaded or if the editors missed the errors (which if that’s the case then shame shame!!). It was a breezy read though.

I actually had to back up my audiobook near the end because I had to try to figure out what the heck was happening. That's not usually a good sign.
I liked the atmosphere and the characters. The concept of the family dead inside the "haunted" ship, all still at the bottom of the sea, locked in the dining room forever was a haunting image.
And then we have our twitchy narrator, who was hiding in plain sight as a suburban housewife, but was really keeping her identity secret from everyone, even her husband Hammish, who is no big prize. She was a good character.
I was less on board with the washed up rock star and couldn't really figure out why he was solving this mystery around the podcast with the protagonist.
It wasn't terrible, but also wasn't my favorite of this genre.

This was incredibly fantastic! I didn't know if I wanted to laugh or gasp or shake my head. Great read! I hope her other works are similar because I am going to have to check them out.
