This book brought me out of my "no non fiction" policy and made me an avid consumer of books on a number of subjects. I read this with my friend and many interesting conversations were sparked from the topics and content brought up in these essays.

Dear Ms. (Professor?) Srinivasan,

I have to thank you, first and foremost, for the existence of this book. I have not been so thunderstruck by a piece of literature in many months, and was really itching for that experience again when I picked up The Right to Sex. I've perused some of the reviews of the book, and noticed that a lot of the readers with mediocre-to-negative responses complain about the fact that your book often feels like a "primer" on contemporary feminist issues, and perhaps doesn't mine as deep as other works have. I'd say this is a pretty silly criticism, seeing as you cover so much ground, which appeals much more to me than going super deep into one specific issue, but also because it's quite clear from the get go that The Right to Sex is meant to be something of a refreshing introduction to twenty-first century feminism—a perhaps redundant refresher to honed feminist thinkers, but a world-shifting introduction to new students of the field and practice, like me.

World-shifting is, in fact, the perfect term to describe your book (for me, at least). I highlighted so many more lines than I normally do in a nonfiction work—there was so much I didn't want to forget, exquisite expressions that etched themselves into my mind, clarifying my entire worldview. I needed essays like yours to bring me into the landscape that makes up each of these issues, and I definitely needed your bibliography at the end to point me in the direction of resources to read next. Your text was comprehensive yet challenging, eye-opening and validating at the same time. I am beyond impressed—I'm completely floored. While reading this book, I've been talking about it to my friends and family and coworkers, and I'm not sure when I'll stop. I'm sure I'll be recommending it for a long time to come. And I will, without a doubt, be looking into your other publications and awaiting your next work eagerly.

Sincerely,

Alina

Good points for the most part but feels like a very academic text. Enjoyable
