4.5 stars!

Loved this story and waited too long to read it. A not super romance-y romance and I thoroughly enjoyed it. (more so woman's fiction)

Nora and her kids were some of my favorite characters and how could you not love Leo and his stupid self. I enjoyed reading about a writer of this world's Hallmark channel.

When Nora wrote her divorce story into a screenplay, she didn’t expect it to become one of the biggest films of the year. She definitely didn’t expect to fall in love with Hollywoods biggest heartthrob, Leo Vance, who plays the lead in the movie.

I devoured this book. Such an entertaining story and I was really rooting for the characters. This story just didn’t feel real to me. I know that’s kind of the point (Nora’s living out a huge fantasy for many single housewives, heck any housewife), but I still struggle with that. Nora and Ben’s marriage breakdown did feel SO real though, so it was hard having this relationship with Leo feel so unreal. Leo’s relationship with the kids was great. Disliked the insta love and complete lack of communication between Leo and Nora that could have saved both of them so much pain.

Despite some of my issues with this book it was still really good. 3.75 stars rounded up to 4 for me.

This was the sweetest love story! The romance between characters totally had me invested and I was genuinely surprised (and gutted) when the cause of their issues was revealed. I wish this love story was real. I want to see Nora at the Oscars! Five stars, but would’ve loved a little more spice..if you know what I mean. 😏

This book was such a delight! Nora, approaching 40, is recently divorced and living a small life in upstate New York with her two kids. She writes romance movies for cable TV, and that's enough to (mostly) pay the bills. After her divorce, she writes a screenplay about her divorce that gets picked up by a bigger movie studio, and they descend on her house for three days to shoot some scenes. Enter Leo, the biggest Hollywood actor who is starring in the movie. He ends up staying at her house for a month after the shoot wraps up as he deals with his own issues and wants to retreat into a regular life of weekday dinners, soccer games, and quiet life. They, obviously, fall in love.

Monaghan wrote such great characters in this book. They come alive off the page and feel incredibly relatable. I love a good Hollywood trope in a rom-com, and this book delivered on that front. I couldn't help but picture Matthew McConaughey as Leo.

The characters had great chemistry, I loved the small town setting and the cast of other characters who support Nora and Leo in their cute love story. Overall, a really fun, feel-good read!

ending was rushed too but everything that happened in it was perfect so i’ll let it slide
