Incredibly dark; an excellent example of how unsettling it is when form and content contradict each other.
Bajo la pintura de cuento de hadas infantil se esconde un mundo de horrores y crueldad (aunque, ¿qué cuento clásico no la tiene en sus orígenes?). No deja de ser un reflejo (quizás algo exagerado pero no muy lejos de la realidad) de lo que es la naturaleza y lo que implica la supervivencia. ¿La inocencia tiene cabida en el mundo salvaje? Este álbum ilustrado es la respuesta perfecta a esa pregunta. No puede tener un título más acertado.
I liked the juxtaposition of the bright cheery artwork with the horrible things the characters did, but at the end of the day it's basically Lord of the Flies but with girls [not a concept I'm adverse to, just saying] and I'm not sure what the 'point' is other than 'people are awful' which ...yeah, tell me something I don't know. Definitely an interesting story, but not particularly revolutionary IMO.

This was ... dark. Like I'm going to go read something else before I go to sleep kind of dark. My brief flip through at the library did not prepare me for this eventuality.
