I liked how it came clear in this volume that the main character really wants to play basketball and that he doesn't play only to impress a girl.

Lol, this was so good. The new power generation. Rukawa is a genius basketball player that Sakuragi began to feel threatened and insecure by his skills. The poor redhead wouldn't pass the ball to Rukawa! And the judo team tried to recruit Sakuragi because of his monstrous build and energy. It was such a hilarious volume. But finally, Akagi sees Sakuragi's determination to play basketball. We are going big!

I feel like this volume is solidifying my interest in Slam Dunk. I think I will continue reading the series, but I am not a basketball fan so that may hinder my interest in the future.
