Another book that I kept putting off, but really enjoyed once I started! This is a new to me author and I’m definitely continuing with the series. There is a lot of action and danger. Although billed as slow burn, Cassius and Morgan had a ton of chemistry and started getting it on fairly soon - not within the first few chapters, but sooner than I’d expect for a book labeled as such. There is a good cast of supporting characters that didn’t feel like cutouts and I loved Loki.

The narrator was good and pleasant to listen to.

Enjoyed the story and the characters, but I had issues with the audio. I would read the rest of the series, but I would not continue in audio. The levels kept dropping and raising. I had to drastic change the volume levels the entire time.

Awesome urban fantasy!!!

This is a UF you NEED in your life. You could say I fell for it. #SorryNotSorry. It sucked me in and I’d quite happily live here if I could. I’m really glad for the glossary though as it’s such a fascinating, complex world, it helped immensely to refer back to it while reading. Also reading Unbound, the prequel, while not necessary to enjoy Fractured Souls, is a short, hot intro to Cassius but it doesn’t feature Morgan. I’m glad I read it though.

On to the book, I want my own mischievous friend like Cassius found. Also I would most definitely lick both Morgan and Cassius like a lollipop. “I want to hear every single sound you make. Your moans, your gasps, your screams.” He kissed Cassius, his expression feral. “They’re all mine!” Yum. In fact, can I just roll around in these two? They’re delectable, mysterious, powerful, on fire and I want more, more, more. And not just of these two; if wishes came true, I’d be the newest member of Morgan’s team—even if that means they’d use me for target practice. I love them that much and just want to soak in all I can of their amazing, magical, tight-knit, kick@ss family. If you’re looking for intricate characters, intense action and heat, angels and demons, then look no further as this is book of your dreams.

Oh. My. Gosh. This was a mix of VERY spicy, light hearted finding love, and mysterious magic. This was such a good listen.

This book was really well written and extremely pleasant on audio. Outstanding world building, excellent lore around angels/demons and a pile of paranormal creatures in between. My only wish was that we had more spice and relationship building between Cassius and Morgan (the main angels). I was expecting a read that centered around them, and instead felt like I got The Justice League equivalent of a large cast of characters that added quite a bit of complexity and detracted from what I thought was going to be the main relationship build. That said I'm satisfied with the ending and may pick up book 2, was a good read.

It was fun but moved so quickly, like snap snap snap
We were introduced to so many characters at once that it was a bit hard to follow. Especially as each one of them was doing something.
I liked Morgan and Cassius, but guys you had sex once and Morgan is like 'oh, you are mine and blah blah' - chill dude
Then the investigation was fast too I reread some pages to check whether I missed something but no.
I think it needs some editing with such a fast pace each word needs to be intentional. Also, there was a lot of repetitions and some strange adjectives (like meaty dick for god's sake, but maybe that's just me)
Overall, a pretty good one will continue with the series.

A good read to start your year. I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were likable, the banter was funny.

This is a new to me author and found this to be a really good read, I don't believe that you need to have read the novella before this book, as it is background, background that is talked about maybe not in so much detail within the pages of this book. As a fan of both the Hidden Species series by Louisa Masters and Soulbound series by Hailey Turner, this book and hopefully the rest of the series is right up my street. So much so it's gone from an ARC I was given for an honest review to a one click buy. It is a 'I don't want to put it down' type of book, but I do recommend reading and taking note of the glossary at the beginning of the book. Oh and I don't recommend starting to read just before bed.

I liked how good the world building is, how quick the action is, it draws you in right from the start and doesn't let up. The characters are mainly good with plenty of banter between them, some of them I found to be more irritating than others but as in real life it's their differences and quirks good or bad that make the team work. Overall I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
