A true friends-to-lovers where it didn't feel the MCs entered into the friendship with hopes of more. The feelings grew through the story in a real way and they both fought them because of how important their friendship became. I appreciated their communication throughout and how neither of them fully allowed the other to push them away when attempted. They took the time they needed to cool off but never let things said in pain be the end of something good. I really appreciated that as well during the 3rd act breakup, no miscommunication in sight in a situation where it could have easily happened. I also liked seeing Dylan come to terms with the damaging relationships she had in her life and also accepting that constantly getting 2nd place is actually quite an achievement.
I lowered the rating a pinch because there was a period the story felt starting to drag for me but I think overall it was really good.

Reasons Oliver Anderson is a Bad Idea.
1. He’s married (as far as I’m aware.)
2. That goodamm smile.

“I’m going to f - ck the brat out of you, love.”
“Try your best, Babe.”
Maybe it was weakness, maybe it was hopeless, but I knew how life without her and I wouldn’t go back to that without a fight. I’d lost love before, I’d let it go.
I wouldn’t let that happen with Dylan.
“Beg for me, beautiful.”
“I love hearing you beg.”
And I knew with certainty that was us against the world. That she would always have my back, and I would always support her. No matter where it took us. However many miles from family, across whichever continent, from our home. We would do it together.

This was such a cute & fun read!
I def need more tennis romances in my life!
I enjoyed how these two met & how their relationship progressed naturally. I love that Dylan is unapologetically herself and Oliver wasn’t afraid of her nor did he try to change her.
Their chemistry and banter was so good!

I read Clean Point right before reading this so I wasn’t too excited to read about Dylan. Dylan did grow in this book and I think it was nice to read her perspective and story. I really liked Oliver though I do wish we had gotten more about their relationship. The book seemed more focused on the tennis aspect than the romance, but i don’t know a lot about tennis so that may have been part of the problem for me. There were a couple plots that didn’t get any closure. Oliver’s panic attack was never brought up again and Dylan did not know the truth about it. Dylan and Oliver did not have a discussion about why he and his ex split up and if they would be compatible. Overall, I give this book 3.5 ⭐️ Thank you to the publisher, author and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Meg Jones is quickly becoming one of my fave authors. I’m not a huge sports romance reader and have never even picked up a tennis racket, but this series is delicious! I love how Jones captures the love for the game while still balancing what I’m really here for- the relationship between our two MCs. The tennis playing didn’t feel like filler, but instead advanced the plot and relationship in meaningful ways.
This was also spiiiiicccccy lol. We got two main 🌶️ scenes, but wow did they hit! What I love about Jones’ writing is that she offers the same amount of detail to the spicy scene as she would a tennis scene or an emotional relationship scene. The intimacy doesn’t get tossed aside just because it’s intimate. The detail and creativity makes those scenes 🔥 haha
If you’re a vibe /seasonal reader like me, this is a great summer read. If you like sports romance def dive in, but even if that’s not your preferred genre I implore you to give this one a try.
This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. It is nice that we get to see snippets of Scottie and Nico throughout this book.
I went in to this book with no expectations other than I love a good sports romance & boy, did this deliver. I love when a MMC knows how to use his words. ;)
In this story, we follow Dylan Bailey, a professional tennis player struggling with 'getting the job done' on the court (i.e., winning Grand Slams), and Oliver Anderson, another professional tennis player coming off a big US Open win and coasting into his next era. I absolutely loved Dylan & Oliver's dynamic, the slow-burn, friends-to-lovers really worked for me. The friendly banter was everything.
I loved that we got dual POV chapters and the playlist continuing throughout each chapter was a win in my book. I mean, songs at the beginning of every chapter?! Yes, please. (Ahem, looking at you So High School) It really brought each chapter to life for me.
I feel like Meg Jones did a good job setting the scene for the tennis matches we were reading about. The stakes were definitely high, and there were times I felt like I was right on the court with Dylan. However, I don't necessarily care too much about the nitty gritty details of tennis, so I found myself sometimes skimming the tennis-heavy chapters. This is my one main critique!
Otherwise, if you are looking for a sweet & spicy sports romance read, I would highly recommend you pick this up. This was great!

I absolutely loved Clean Point and Dylan’s character. I couldn’t wait for her book and it delivered!
Dylan and Oliver were so much fun to read. Their relationship progression was the perfect slow burn. Can we also have other authors follow in Meg Jones’ steps and avoid the 3rd act break up? She proved you can have tension without breaking up the couple. I LOVE it.
This is a sports romance about tennis. I don’t know anything about tennis, but Jones does an amazing job explaining! I felt like I was at Dylan’s matches and feeling everything she felt. My anxiety was through the roof!

Dylan Bailey just wants to win. It shouldn't be that hard? Right? Then why does she choke every time she gets to finals? After going through multiple coaches, losing finals one to many times, and being labled as dramatic, Dylan is ready to throw in the towel and give up. Oliver Anderson, her new friend, isn't going to let her give up so easily. Oliver believes in her when it seems no one else does. Essentially forcing her into giving the Grand Slam one more shot, Oliver is determined to see her win.
Getting to see their journey from strangers, to friends, to more was so sweet. I love that there wasn't an insta love relationship for the two of them. They're such strong characters that they needed the build up to fully fit their personalities. I felt like their relationship was so relateable in the sense that it gradualy built to more and the awkward unknown "Do they like me back?" stage that we've all gone through. Then the way they both seemed to figure each other out and what they needed and when. It was so good to see a happy healthy relationship in a story.
Thank you NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the chance to read and review this book.

A nice follow-up to Clean Point, although not quite as satisfying. Again I applaud Jones for thoroughly incorporating tennis into the story, which does a nice job of thoroughly redeeming Dylan from her villainous behavior in the preceding book, and I became invested enough to root for her to finally win as the climactic Australian Open approached. The progression of Dylan and Oliver's relationship from friends to player and coach to lovers is nicely done, and it's definitely apparent how close they become as they spend more time together and open up to each other. However, this book didn't have as much of the fun spark of its predecessor as it is a little more serious in tone, and the majority of the story is centered on Dylan's arc, giving Oliver little in the way of issues of his own to work through as his focus is mostly on her. An enjoyable read despite its shortcomings, though.
