honestly, i loved this book so much. it made me cry and laugh and smile and cry some more. as a gay and trans highschool student, i never had to face what it was like to live throughout a terrifying time when my community was dying. this book hurt because it dug deep into so many feelings and emotions and it addressed issues in a beautiful way.

aristotle and dante are incredible characters and i loved seeing them grow and learn and fight struggles whilst always having eachother and their loved ones to fall back to.

i could go on an on about everything i liked about this book but that would take forever and frankly i’m not emotionally ready to think about the heartbreak this book made me experience. i recommend this sequel to everybody.

I think this book needed a lot more editing, especially in the first half, but I still adore these characters with all my heart and loved getting to know them on a deeper level.

At times, it also felt like the social and political commentary was overtaking the story itself. I wouldn't mind this usually but it felt less natural compared to the first book.
