Different from a typical rom com novel which I liked but could’ve been more exciting. Liked how it was centred around female friendships. Overall average book.

I agree with what another commenter said. It was great to see a book that focused on adult friendships and trying to navigate both changing friendships and create new ones.
At the end of the book, there is a domestic violence plot line that both comes out of nowhere and is focused on survivors giving forgiveness without the abuser ever taking any real accountability for their actions. Additionally, the interplay between that plot line and her self discovery about why she doesn’t want to be in a relationship felt very sudden onset. Her character seemed to change to fit the ending the author wanted to make.
As a side comment, the location (Washington, DC) didn’t seem to add anything to the story. Also some editor failed to catch the use of the Canadian word tuque instead of the American equivalent beanie.
