The protagonist was well-written and the story was interesting, but I thought a lot of the side characters fell flat (including the love interests).

I’ve been thinking of this book as a big sister to Sweetbitter, though the focus is more on writing life than the service industry or food. A very cathartic read for Mother’s Day when your mom has died. I’m not a huge fan of the the HEA trope, so the end felt a little toooo sweet, but it was a relief that things finally go Casey’s way.
