While this was an interesting story and I enjoyed the writing (and I ate it up it in just a few days) I wouldn't categorize it as a thriller. To me, thrillers = curveballs and tasty plot twists, gasp-worthy revelations and complex characters with gray morals. This book did not land on those points. I also didn't particularly resonate with any of the POVs, and I think having 4 separate perspectives was unnecessary and almost gave too much information away about the characters, rather than leaving their secrets to be discovered in compelling ways.

I remember hearing the true story of a kidnapped school bus that gets buried until the ransom is paid, so I was really looking forward to this book. It did not disappoint! I felt like biting my nails as the “little but fierce” girl was clawing her way out in an attempt to save them all. The two kidnappers; a couple of bad dudes just trying to make a fortune from something so hideous … creeps!! This was a quick read, one sitting, and went fast, kept me engaged, and had a satisfying ending. I liked it!!

NG coming in so clutch with this ARC, thank you! (Pub Date: 4.29): Noelle Ihli has done it again my friends. In true fashion, she delivers a dark, disturbing and tense story about a kidnapping of small children and their bus driver and the courage it takes to survive, no matter how young. I’ll never look at a school bus the same again! 5 stars all the way around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
