I absolutely love this book. I've read it once two years ago in one sitting (I never do that) and was absolutely sobbing by the end. I re-read it now for an article I wrote about the upcoming movie. Again, made me cry. It's the perfect book for different aspects in life. A real John Green tearjerker

John Green is just not for me. He writes amazing philosophical spirals and character portraits but he neglects the story so much that there's little to no enticement to keep the train going.

She has mysophobia and I couldn't bear all these descriptions and details about germs and self harm. I mean it was alerting to protect and stop myself from being like her or have any kind of addiction and maybe that was the goal, to scare me and protect me, but I just won't read it again.

This, to me, is such an important book. Though the plot itself may not be tremendously innovative, Green's descriptions of the emotional highs and lows of life with anxiety/OCD are at once nauseating, jarring, and comforting in their accuracy. The last few paragraphs gave me goosebumps. As with "The Anthropocene Reviewed," I am profoundly grateful for Green's work here. A rare reread.
