The book that brought me out of my reading slump, I hope :D A very easy read, tropes that I like and characters that are believable.

This book was very refreshing for many reasons! It had a lot of things I love so I had decently high hopes going in, and this book did not disappoint.

The enemies to lovers here was done SO WELL. I think in a day and age where so much content is being released constantly, we have a lot of trope-y stories to wade through to find the good ones. And this is a great one! The characters were so well written, the plot was exciting, the mix of angst, action, drama, and romance was perfect! I really enjoyed myself.

Also, I think with all the cookie cutter FMCs and MMCs out there these days, I really liked Thea and Conall. Plus all the side characters were so interesting and enjoyable to read!

I love the world the author has made and can’t wait to read more of this series!

3.75, this wasn't bad, but not THE BEST either. The fact it took me a month to read it might have something to do with my enjoyment too. I'll sure pick up another one of Young's books eventually!

Such a good pnr! Loved!!! (Scottish accents 🤌🏽)
Set in our world but had a high fantasy sensibility. I loved the characters + relationship development. The forced proximity, mystery + great action. I really wish the rest of the stand alone’s in this series was available in audio 😭

Don't get me wrong, I liked this story, even loved it at some moments especially at the end but this isn't Samantha Young which I'm used to. Maybe it's that this story is written at the third person narration, but simply something is missing in the whole story to make me be addicted to it.

I just couldn’t get invested in this - the characters didn’t grab me. It’s well written but lacking something.
