This was my first book by Samantha Young.
I liked it a lot and it felt pretty unique to me.
After reading I feel like I’ve read a whole series about Thea and Conall. Somehow in the shortness of the book there happened a lot but it didn’t fell rushed to me. Even though the book only covers one month it feels much longer because of the connection between Thea and Conall.
What I don’t really like:
Thea “loses” her powers before ever being able to explore the whole of them. It made me sad knowing what she might be able to do with some training but never had the chance to.
Generally I wished to see more of Thea’s powers.

Regarding it lowkey is a shifter romance, there was surprisingly little “typical” werewolf content. Conall is possessive but not overly so and all in all it felt like a pretty natural relationship between them and not the extreme bonding common in shifter romances.

I don’t think I will read the next book in this series; even though I enjoyed “War of Hearts” I’m happy to just let it be as a stand-alone.

Don’t know if I will continue this series as it can be read as a standalone. There was a lot of info dumping and I felt like the book was trying to be too big. I liked the broodiness of both the characters but the story didn’t hold my attention very long. It felt really long to read and it might feel that way because I’ve been reading way too much fanfiction but, I don’t regret reading the book. I usually like character focussed stories but quick switched between a flirty moment and then immediately being attacked  was like wipe lash.
