I’m starting to like this series less and less as it goes on, which is so disappointing. All the magic from the first book has fizzled out slowly and there’s not much left.

As I said in my review for the second book, where does the book club come into play? It’s barely mentioned in this story and Noah does read some of a book, then that storyline totally drops off.

Is it just me or do all of the characters seem so mopey and negative. There were so many things that didn’t add up for me. Why is Noah so aggressive and like angry all the time? How did Eliot cheat on his wife when it says she broke up with him? Why is Noah so worried about this surgery that is so low risk? Why are both of their families so, so shitty? Why can they both forgive everyone but each other? Why does Noah keeping calling Alexis, Lexa? That drove me.

What Alexis does/says to Noah that’s “unforgivable” isn’t even bad! The relationship between them seems so young, they’re close friends, their feelings are so obvious and as grown adults they can’t acknowledge that even though literally nothing is standing in their way? And then boom! They’re together, then boom they’re not. It just didn’t add up even though I did feel the connection between them.

Alexis relationship with her family is one I just wanted to skip over. She claims she’s hesitant but she goes to the end for these people who treat her so horribly and she’s met like what, three times? It’s so odd. Noah’s family isn’t much better, I couldn’t stand Marsh, what an absolutely horrible character just for all to really be forgiven in the end.

I just wish these books would go back to the beginning, where there was depth, but also lightness through the book club. These stories, while covering deep topics have honestly just gotten sad and that’s really not what I signed up for when I invested in this series. I want the blushing, grinning excitement I had at the beginning!

Hopefully the next is better, but I don’t find the Russian a character I want to read about, especially in a romantic way.

Another fun listen. This 3rd book in the Bromance Bookclub series was just as entertaining as the first two. Alexis and Noah are two best friends who have fallen for each other but they're both reluctant to reveal their true feelings for fear of ruining the friendship. The novel relays a little more of their back story (their characters were introduced in book 2) and why they make the choices they do. Entertaining and light yet still has a bit of depth in the story telling.
Recommended, if you're looking for something that's not too heavy.
Can't wait to dive into book #4.
