ooh boy there's a list of things that didn't work for me...

Should we start with the cardboard cutouts of characters with a whisper of trauma and a backstory, but then we forgot about it?

Or should we talk about how these two characters shouldn't be together at this point in their life because they're in two very different places in their sexuality. One character is out and public about it and one character is still very much in the closest. And while there wasn't any obvious pushing to come out, there was what I felt like gaslighting and pressuring. Lots of guilt trips which just felt gross.

There is a rampant trend of assumedly straight women writing m/m romances. And it's not a good look. The sex scenes were so visual with body parts and that's usually a red flag that it's an author fetish. The characters felt like they were written by a woman. I was very uncomfortable this whole time.

Because I had to read it, y'all have to hear this too... The MC said "he fell head over ass for him". who says that?

My first book by Riley Hart, I think. Enjoyable read with lovable characters. The plot/romance was a tad too slow for me but I still very much enjoyed my listen!

Top 5 Read This Year!!

This book is amazing. It’s so American. The football player and the politician. What can go wrong? One of the best first meetings I’ve ever read. Their chemistry is fire and you will love ever moment and conversation between them. Friends to lovers, secret relationship, age gap, and love. What more could you want?

What a beautiful story! What a journey. So sweet.

More literary nachos from Riley Hart who is turning into one of my faves. I like she avoided the obvious storyline of the football player being outed publicly. Cute romance, decent spice, and a focus on characters.

Woke up the next morning and didn’t feel like continuing idk….

Story of Anson and Weston

I may have cried on and off through this book.

There was a lot of emotional conversations about being who you are and it was dealt with really well.

Loved seeing Anson and Weston’s relationship blossom.

Looking forward to the next book.

4.5 ⭐️ Wowwwie this was so fucking cute. Riley Hart is such a comfort author at this point. This story was just lovely. The NFL player and US senator thing really did it for me. I absolutely loved these two together.
