Nobody was likable in this book. This read like a sad season 8 of Game of Thrones, nothing made sense and on top of that I lost brain cells. I repeat, nothing that happened in this book made any sense. I can go on about it but there's no need. This book was very one dimensional and felt like it was written by a prepubescent teenage girl. At 39% I was rolling my eyes, at 51% I was insulted by the words on the page. by 71% I was just forcing myself to finish it for my book club.
Some fun rage triggers while reading this novel:
-meaningless cheating
-did someone say "danger"? Oh that must mean pretend nothing happened
-rude ass child
-everybody going against their character development and doing the most random shit
-actual torture porn
I will say the only redeeming piece of this novel is that the author covered up the extent of the abuse pretty well in the first half of the book. Overall, this is clearly a skip. And please, do not make this the next highly anticipated Netflix thriller.
