My fave of the series so far, even tho I read this one first- I LOVE Shay! She is such a strong and resilient woman and her love for her family is genuine in its purest form. I'm going back to start with book 1 about Liv but I'm looking fwd to Delia's story the most- I can't imagine who finally melts that ice queen. Such a good series!

This was cute. The "momcom" experiment is going strong in the Boston brownstone (*please* tell me Delia's book will finally see real repairs being done??? It's starting to freak me out a little) with a bazillion kids (OK, 7...but sometimes it feels like a bazillion), the 4 BFF moms, plus a bonus raccoon family--so the usual hilarity ensues here, there are a few LOL moments. I really enjoyed seeing Kai finally able to come out from under his mother's smothering tendencies--it's about time the poor guy gets to breathe already. :)

Overall this one isn't going to be my favorite, though, and it's mostly because of "me" issues. (And it should have been, because single mother/widow and hockey player! What's not to love there?) The reasons that Shay *had* to be Rowan's PT felt super manufactured, and his aggressiveness was a bit off-putting. It was all too insta-everything for my liking, and Shay's personal history used my least favorite widow tropes--her first marriage wasn't great, her dead husband was a jerk anyway--that made her subsequent over-commitment being healthy once she was widowed seem even more OTT than it already was.

Plenty of people loved this one, though, so if the other tropes here (forbidden doctor/patient, he falls first, secret relationship, reverse age gap) sound like your jam give it a try! I 100% believe this is an instance of it's not the book, it's absolutely me.
