Patterson is very good at plot twists and building to a feverish pace. Half way through this book you pretty much have to push through to the end. Alex Cross is a renowned literary character and this is his debut. I liked him, but also found him the stereotypical superhero street cop who tells his boss or the mayor or anyone in higher authority off every time he sees them. He comes nowhere close to cracking my top ten favorite literary characters.
You may love this book, or it may be good, and I'd say there's only a very small chance you find it isn't worth a read.
