3.5 stars. Fun, fast, engaging. This is an audible freebie I forgot i downloaded. Good mystery but the ending was a little unsatisfying.

This story was so good ... until I got to the end and was like "oh.... is that all?" there are also a lot of loose ends that don't get tied up at all..just kind of a fizzled out ending...I was diapointed

If I was reading this and not listening on audible I would have DNF’ed. There are better mystery / crime / thrillers out there. This one sucked.

I will read anything Christian White writes. This didn’t hold me captive like some of his other writing but was still an enjoyable listen on audible.

2.5 stars. A good, quick listen. I appreciated the beginning more than the end.

Edited to add: Well, let this be a lesson to me to always check my Goodreads, because I accidentally listened to this for a second time. And, sadly, my feelings on it haven’t changed. It starts strong, but the resolution isn’t believable and doesn’t have the depth of character development needed to support it.

These audible mini-books(?)… novellas(?)… whatever they’re called are always hit or miss. Except this one. At the beginning was delicious, and made me want it to be a novel but the pacing quickly fell out of rhythm. Not terrible but not great. A good solo road trip listen but not much more.

3.5. The ending was lame, but the twists leading up to it were great!
