This book was not for me. Or anyone over age 20? Or maybe young 25? It started out fine and I’m pretty good at informing plot holes. I mostly liked our main characters even if the one said “mad” almost every other sentence.
The middle parts were mad boring. So boring. Someone give me my time back. And somewhere down the line, I began finding all the characters annoying to the point where I wouldn’t mind a “6 feet under” type of ending where we find out how all of them die but in a “yay! They ALL die!” kind if way.
I vaguely remember when I thought maudlin writing meant good writing. But that time is over for me now and reading this trite, maudlin, eye-roll inducing garbage was not a good time. This is perfect for a moody 10th grader, not for fully functioning adults.
I would rate the 2nd half much lower than 2.5 but I did enjoy the first 15% so it only seemed fair.

Well... I can't stop crying even tho I already knew that it was going to end badly because the title is self explanatory. I just want to say that I hate and love this book equally and that it made me think a lot about death and life and the perspective we have on these subjects. I enjoyed it a lot even tho I suffered so much reading this but I think this is not a book suitable for everyone.

This book made me realise I’m REALLY impatient with my romances - I want the sparks to start flying IMMEDIATELY. So the build up was frustratingly slow, and in the meantime I thought the plot a little repetitive, and the near-misses with death a really pointless form of edging.
But it was cute and it was absorbing and it creatively communicates an important message. For all the faults I found with it, I couldn’t help but like it!
