Being a sociopath, a certain percentage of this book is surely lies or exaggerated, or both. Still, incredibly interesting.

It's a very wierd book. It is written by a person with PhD in psychology but it is not very scientific. To be honest the whole book I felt manipulated by the author trying to convince me she is a good person while being very much not. She stalks people, breaks into houses, steals cars. She omits peeing herself in the white house from this memoir but there is interview online where she describes it. Most of her life she is content with these acts of creepiness because "i could be worse sociopath" only by the end of the books she seeks profesional help and only because her father told her to. Even after right before getting her degree she holds contempt for psychology and does not understand why she should practice as a therapist to get get the accreditation. I only read it because she is supposed to be a professional. Her book is telling otherwise. She is a specialist, but in herself. I think that book exists to make her feel seen. It is not very helpful to other sociopaths as it does not specify any tools to actually help. It criticises the stigma but at the same time she did break into people's houses and stalked them so are people that much off? The only thing that kept my interest were relationships with men. Because it seems even sociopaths are not immune to grooming and being made feel responsible for men's emotions. It is however never addressed. For most of her young adult life she believes that her first boyfriend, (18 at the time when she was 14! ) is proof that she is "the good sociopath". Spoiler, the guy is now her husband. And while they work with therapist to address his imposing and manipulative behaviour it is a bit disheartening message for other potential sociopaths to be left with.
Overall some people belive you should not rate memoirs, I dont agree it is a literary piece like any other. What I am rating is, does it work as a thing it was advertised to be and it doesn't. Honestly, editor that forced her to write an epilogue is a saint because otherwise this book would be actually terrible.
