I had high hopes after this book was hyped up on Instagram. I should have known I’d be disappointed.
This book deals with a lot of trauma and tropes that I hate. I don’t want to spoil anything but the tropes are done as tropes like that usually are. I hated every character in this book. They were annoying, lacked critical thinking, and felt flat. Though it did keep me turning pages, I also worked out every plot twist by the time it was revealed. This may be because of my background in literature since many of the foreshadowing methods were classics. I’m not sure the hype around this trauma dump that lacked true character change.
Maybe I’m harsh, but not every book is for everyone.

It was a well written book but for some reason I just really didn’t get into it. It took me months to get into it and I kept putting it down for other things.

I haven’t been this into a book from the beginning in a while! Don’t usually like cheating in books, however it became more understand to me when we found out how bobby died, everyone’s just messed up from that. 4.5 not 5 because I thought the twists were a little too obvious and already assumed both.

I typically loathe books with infidelity in them. I usually DNF them, honestly, as there are no redeeming qualities in someone that would cheat on their spouse. However, I found this well written. While, yes, there is infidelity, there are no excuses made. No glossing over the harm done.
