Wow, this book really grabbed me. Broken County had me flipping pages non-stop. And the writing? Absolutely gorgeous. Clare Leslie Hall has such a way with words. The story felt so layered and meaningful without ever dragging…just the right amount of depth and emotion. The story is layerrrred.

i was a little underwhelmed by this one. it was interesting enough but i felt like it moved slowly and the characters weren’t developed as well as i wanted. i understood the general intent of the plot and main love triangle but didn’t think it was anything special.

This story leaves me feeling a bit off. Overall, I enjoyed the back and forth timeline and piecing the story together. Most parts I figured out well before it was told but the build up to was done well.
I almost stopped at 60%, infidelity just isn’t my jam. I understand there were reasons and hardships that lead to it but truthfully, no excuse would work for me.
Frank was a gem, a gentle giant, and deserved better. So much better.
I feel like this always happens, I’ve seen some RAVING about this “life altering” book and I read it and think…welp, it was ok 🫤
Anywho, didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. Just kinda pushed through because of the reviews I had seen and finished feeling underwhelmed.

Honestly, I want to rate this higher. The story telling is top tier.
The concept is engaging. As an audiobook, I really vibed with the narrator.
Unfortunately, I just really had beef with every single character other than farmer Frank. That man is pure, wholesome love.
Everyone else annoyed me and it made the book almost insufferable at times. ☹️
