This collection of memories and stories is fun and thoughtful. I loved it.
My favourite story was the "head bitch" tattoo one... broke my fucking heart!
And now I'm itching for another tattoo...

A short collection of illustrations of real-life people's tattoos accompanied by the stories behind them.

While the choice to get a tattoo can sit anywhere on the scale of "bursting with meaning" to "a symptom of being young," every tattoo has a story. I loved seeing the illustrations of the tattoos next to the story of how & why that tattoo came to be on that person's body. I had to pick this book up at the library since I got my first (very meaningful & literary) tattoo a couple months ago. :)

I love to read about why people get tattoos, from famous people to everyday people. I'm not a huge fan of the art - it looks too childish to me - but I did very much enjoy the stories.

Some of those stories made me cry. I don’t have any tattoos but maybe I’ll eventually want one.

Nice little book of stories. A wide array of people share the meaning and stories behind their tattoos. Each story is accompanied by a drawing of the person and the tattoo. I found some stories to be short and charming while others were profoundly emotional. Some names you might recognize include Roxane Gay, Mona Eltahawy, French Montana, Cheryl Strayed, and Jiz Lee. I'd recommend for folks who love tattoos, personal stories, illustrations, and folks looking for a light non-fiction read.

The stories of the sentimentality attached to ink was more inspiring than the lackluster artwork.
