This had great advice and examples of how humor works best and the common pitfalls (punching down vs up, self-deprecating humor, etc.). Highly recommend

Solid primer on using the fine art of comedy to connect with those you work with. The authors have no expectation that the reader is automatically funny but instead that we all have the ability to ease tension through honest jokes. They speak to the perks of punching up but never down and many other useful tools. They have some fun with the book and through the audiobook. It was interesting the questionnaire they poised to the reader about how often you laugh. Turns out no matter how depressed I am I will always be down for a laugh - and joyful on the ones I brought to fruition. My life motto and one I feel they authors will strongly endorse:

An easy read filled with practical suggestions. I've already put some of the ideas into practice and have been happy with the results. I'm glad I read this book.

Ever wondered how to be humorous? Wanted to be funniest guy in the room? This book isn't for you.

Humour Seriously doesn't teach how you can be humorous. It explains what it takes to be humorous [Spoiler Alert] - Boldness, Authenticity, Presence, Joy and Love.

Yep, being funny doesn't have anything to do with fun. The eternal and holy sense of humour grows from how present you're into a situation, how well you understand it, and how lightly you can take it.

And this book will help you look into the various nooks and crannies with an abnormal prospective. Then it's up to you whether you pull out a notorious bunny or a little, well-mannered pup.

This felt so corporate. While it does have some useful advice and I love the point it's making, but as far as books go, not that enjoyable. It's riddled with jokes which due to the rhythm of the book is almost always predictable, not funny, and lame but not in a funny way like a dad joke is. The humor here is really just to set the tone and put its premise into action. But even bad humor is often better than none at all, so it really does prove the point of the book, making the authors more relatable.
