I officially have a book hangover after this one!

More triggers and honestly I love this one more than the first. I was emotional during this from tear from crying to tears from laughter. The first half was harder to read because I didn’t want Addie to go through what she had to deal with but the second half was the ride I was needing.

Though she isn’t a main character the doll needs a damn spin off cause she is a headache of laughter.

This book was good in the beginning, definitely harsh and triggering! But more eventful in my opinion then the first one! I also like the chapter close to the hunger games. But once the ending came up it was like a smack of only smut and then chapters I felt shouldn’t have been in the book. The whole chapters with the parents shouldn’t have been in there and it was just a draw on after the 2nd culling. But the book definitely does have good chapters but could have been better.

This one was darker and twistier than the first; I cried a lot for Adeline during most scenes and had to take a little break to read something a bit fluffier. It broke me and healed me at the same time, like its own kind of therapy. Adeline's character development was perfect, and I felt immensely for her. Watching her grow into a badass had me rooting for her the whole way. While Adeline and Zade's relationship seems toxic, it's just what I want in my love stories.

Yup, still concerned about my mental well being because I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The first half was really hard to get through just because of the subject matter and because it was so triggering, but I was hooked from the beginning, it was just a matter of getting through it. The last half was pretty amazing, I was never bored, it was never predictable, and I think that’s what I loved the most about the duology as a whole. I didn’t expect any of what the author threw my way and I really appreciated it.

Am… Am I Morally Grey?

Not one cringe was crunged during this entire story.

My one miff??? That hot Hillary Clinton didn’t get murked slower.

My therapist and I have many things to discuss.

Belts and knives have new meanings, how can one get in on what Sibby has with her henchmen? Asking for a friend.

This book was an emotional rollercoaster. Don't ignore the content warnings, folks, that's all I'm gonna say on that matter. For someone with very few triggers, this one kinda hit me a little in a sensitive spot. It was dark and it stayed dark, even when there was hope, I felt like I was remembering what it was like going through my own PTSD. Which, I think books like this can really be helpful to survivors for in some cases. At least for me. But I just felt sad reading it. And I stayed sad. Even with the spice at the end and Addie moving through her trauma(even though she'll always carry it with her), I was just sad. AND WHAT DOES IT SAY ABOUT ME THAT MY FAVORITE CHARACTER WAS RIO AND HE WAS A FUCKING BAD DUDE.
