This was such a fantastic retelling of Peter Pan!! It adds so much depth to the story while not taking away from the magic and wonder of the original story.

I had a fun time with this retelling. There were parts that were different but for a good reason. The plot was interesting of course but personally I didn’t find it to be scary in any way. I did enjoy the mystery behind it though, especially the ending. All and all there isn’t anything special that stood out to me in this book that would want me to rate it higher than I did.

I am having some very mixed feelings about this book, but I am going to stick with this rating.

I didn't dislike it. It's a charming novel, and Aiden Thomas's writing style is very good. But this particular book wasn't as good as Cemetery Boys, and the story was like how I'm playing Tears of the Kingdom: drifting from side quest to side quest with no real progress.

This book was so AVERAGE. Such a disappointment considering how much I adored Thomas' debut. There was nothing particularly terrible about this book, but I was so uninterested in the plot I almost didn't finish it. I don't generally like retellings as they tend to err on the side of being childish and convuluted and unfortunately this was one of them. The pacing was extremely slow - nothing happens until the last 10% of the book, it seems like we're always just waiting for Peter to come back. The twist was completely predictable and Wendy was the most irritating protagonist to read from. An absolute EFFORT to finish.

I enjoyed the pace of this story and it felt more familiar to the ideas I remember if Peter Pan than other fairy tale reimaginings I read. Overall I really enjoyed the story and Peter and Wendy the most. Some of the other characters seemed a bit of a waste but they weren't the focus so it also made sense. I will say that I wasn't expecting to cry for the whole last bit of the book but I did. It was sweet and sad at the end, but I think this story will stick with me for a bit.

This book was very unique. It took a long time to get into the story line and then it finally started to pick up and got interesting. And then it fell flat in the middle and then picked it self back up and had a happy ending. I like that there was a twist to Peter Pan and his shadow. I felt like overall it was an OK book. I probably wouldn’t read it again and I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re looking for a light read or you don’t really want think about anything and just read or you’re obsessed with Peter Pan lol.
